WEEk 7-8

Swimming is Fun
We have switched days and times so that the students get a chance to swim every week. The children have enjoyed getting back in the water. For your information, we now swim on Tuesday afternoons.  This will change back to Wednesday mornings when the weather gets warmer.

Maths😃
We are now starting to revise our learning. We were finding out if we could remember how to add and subtract two, two-digit numbers. Some were a bit forgetful but by the end of the lessons, they had remembered.

Unit Of Inquiry
We investigated how forces are present in our everyday life.
Dr. Lindsay flew his drone and we discussed and were able to explain how the drone is able to fly. We are using vocabulary such as; friction, gravity, pushing and pulling forces. We can talk about air resistance and tell why objects slow down. (Answer due to friction.)

We investigated the effect of air resistance on our paper airplanes by making movable flaps on the back of our airplane wings.

We investigated how friction slows everything down to a stop, by sliding coins over many different surfaces

English
Each week the students get into various groups to practice their reading comprehension skills. Children learn new words as they read. They absorb information on how to use words and other language features effectively in their own writing and communicating. We have been practising our spelling in school and also sent home for them to practice. They are improving their spelling skills.

Assembly
In assembly today, we were celebrating International Mother Tongue Language Day. The students from our class performed in their native language. We enjoyed some great performances. Well done!

Last week, We celebrated Switzerland
It was the turn of the Swiss national song to be played alongside the national Thai song last Friday. Here is Sophie celebrating her shared culture with us.
