WEEK 4

Flipgrid
What do you know about art?
To complete our work on "How we express ourselves' the children were invited to create a video to talk about what they have learned about how art is used and how it makes people feel. We then watched the videos and talked about about what each other had said.

Our Essential Agreements
The children had created a set of agreements that we try to follow when we are at school.
This week the children were asked.....
"What if we don't follow our essential agreements, what should happen to us?"

The consequences they decided upon were quite reasonable. They ranged from missing playtime breaks to sitting in an other classroom. From not playing with blocks to missing some part of break time. They were very sensible suggestions.

Boys at the Beach
I was on duty the other day in the basket ball court. I saw some of class sitting on chairs looking through the fence at the beautiful swimming pool we have. I asked them, "What are you doing?" Their reply was awesome. "We are pretending we are at the beach!" It made me smile and I thought this would be a great story to share with you all.

Teamwork Assembly
Our PSPE lessons have been focusing on "How we work as a team" So this week we went outside and tried to put some of the skills we had learned to the test.
In fact we did very well as a team. Well done guys!

Maths
We have been reviewing some of the skills we learned about early in term one. So this week we have been investigating why numbers are written they way they are?
Answer "We write them them as tens and ones so that we can count and order them easily."
Some of the children were asked too explain what they understand about the concept of tens and ones to their friends.
They did this very well.
Those who knew about tens and ones were challenged with even larger numbers!
We revised our "number bonds to 10" and how to count up in; 2's 5's and 10's

English
This week we used the theme of "Superheroes" to encourage us to write sentences and show our understanding of what we are reading.
we read our "home books" to adults in the room and praticed our spelling.

U.O.I  "Proud to Present"
We worked as a team to create a poster about teamwork, then each group shred their work with the class. The children decided who was going to talk based on who was confident and able to talk to the class. Others were given special jobs because they had other skills to share. A huge team building activity.

Science Day

We celebrated "Science Day" today by visiting different areas of the school and taking part in various experiments.  The theme of the day was "SCIENCE FUN IS EVERYWHERE"
