Welcome
We have finished week thirteen. It is great that we have been able to lift some of the strict rules regarding our behaviours and movements due to the corona virus pandemic. We are able to have assemblies together. We can now mix on the playgrounds and play with friends from other classes.
Maths
Telling Time
We have been talking about measurement this week. in particular we have been measuring time and length. We know that we measure time with watches clocks and calendars.
English
The children are split into groups to complete different English activities each day. Most days the children read to me and I have them change their book if I feel they are ready to move on.
English in Different Activities
UOI Slideshow
We are learning the skills needed to be able to create and present a slideshow.
A lesson about how we research an idea or topic
Science
We investigated the lifecycles of both plants and animals in science this week.
This week Jeanette and Luffy had the opportunity to dig deeper into measurement and examine time as a big concept. We discussed words associated with time such as months, years, weeks, clock, half-past, quarter past as some examples. We also learned how to read an analog clock which isn't as easy as you might think.
Activities we completed this week to help build up our knowledge in time is matching digit and analog clock times, playing a clock game, clock puzzles and making our own time books.
Next week we will be going back to Geometry, focusing on position and direction.
Happy Birthday Sophie
It was great to be able to celebrate another of our students becoming older happy birthday Sophie. We all hope you had a great day!!!
