What a great week! Loy Krathong and Halloween

MY PASSION
The children were asked what their passion was at the present time. The class had many different and varied answers from cooking to playing with drones.
If you have a moment ask your children what are their passions and dreams at the moment. could lead to an interesting conversation at home. 









Maths
Counting in 2s, 5s and10s. The class are practicing how to count up in different number groups. They are doing great with their efforts so far.









Science
The children were reminded about how a scientist investigates an idea. Then the children were then challenged to create a paper airplane that would fly the furthest in class. They were encouraged to research their ideas via google and watch carefully when their plane flew, so that they could think about changes they could make, so they could improve the length of flight.











English 

The children are working in small groups and are working on different tasks related to English each day. For example some will read to me, some will complete a reading comprehension activity with Miss Am and some will work independently with 
 "Reading Eggs"











Science

Today was the day we tested our airplanes to discover who had created the craft that would fly the furthest. 





Congratulations to Pinjia, her airplane was the craft that travelled the largest distance. 


Computer Programming
Using a "BEEBOT" the children have been given challenges that they must program their "Beebot" to perform. They are having fun writing their own code and having them interpreted by the "Beebot"







Maths
The children have been working hard to make sure they know how to add through the method of "counting on" Others have been racing through the challenges set by me via "Prodigy"

Bowon and Euro were awarded Study Ladder certificates this week for their work about subtraction.  Well done boys!!! Week 2 2020 Team work

 TEAM WORK This week and next week we are focusing on how a great team works together. Such as how we can do things to help each other and what a great team says to each other in ways of encouragement.  Last week we tried to build tall towers. This week our tall towers were built after we had our chat about what makes a team.  I am happy to tell you that we have started to help each other and work together and talk positively together. Maths   We are learning about tens and ones and what each digit means in a number. Miss Emmi's group are also investigating digits and what they mean when we see them.  English We are starting to experiment with letter names and sounds. We are starting to find ways with computers to learn our letter names and sounds. We tried doing our first writing of the year which I can use to compare how much they have improved by the end of the school year.  U.O.I. We are now aware of the reasons we try to eat healthy food....

Welcome Back to Week 10

  Welcome back ..... ........to the second half of first term. We hope you had a relaxing break and are recharged for the path to Christmas.  Please can you support your children with reading at home.  The more they read the stronger they will become.  Here at school we will endeavor to change their book when we feel they are ready to move on to  new book. Here are some works we are proud of from last term. Swimming Mr. Dave's Jellyfish Temperature Check Each day at lunchtime we check the children's temperature and get them to wash their hands as part of our covid 19 school policy.  Here are some images of that happening.  "Happy Birthday!" (ask your child what this means!)
